The goal of the website is to offer 13–29-year-old young citizens of Oulu information and support in different areas of life and ease finding services. Additionally, the Sohova tab offers young people an opportunity to produce and share content.
Nuortenoulu.fi/en is a service maintained by the city of Oulu Youth Services. On top of Youth Services, the website contents have been produced by a development project 2018–2020 (European Social Fund). Many parties that work with young people have participated in planning and developing the website. Young people have also participated in the development in various ways: open surveys, workshops and feedback forms. New version of the website was published on August 28, 2024. The website is divided into separate sections. Each section has separate persons in charge and content producers responsible for the currency of information. The city of Oulu Youth Services is mainly responsible for the entire website.
