Maikkula Studio
There is a recording studio in connection to the Maikkula Youth Centre that can be used by under 25 years old citizens of Oulu.
Prerequisites of the studio
The users of the studio must be under 25 years old and registered to live in Oulu.
Commercial material is not produced at the studio. Material recorded at the studio must not be inappropriate, discriminatory or hurtful.
The rules of the city of Oulu’s Youth Centres apply at the studio.
How can I use the studio?
You may ask for more information from the instructors of the Maikkula Youth Centre.
Good to know
Primarily, the customers use their personal instruments and amplifiers, but it is possible to use the studio’s instruments. Agree on the use of instruments when booking an appointment in the studio. You may use prepared background tracks (beats) if the creator approves the use. Creating your own beats at the studio is also possible.
You should book an appointment at the studio in good time beforehand, at least a couple of weeks before the hoped recording time.
Prepare well for the recording! The studio is not a practice space. It is meant for recording already composed, written, arranged and practiced songs.
