Byström One-Stop Guidance Centre Lobby Team – the everyday helpers for young people
The lobby team at Byström One-Stop Guidance Centre is a diverse group of professionals whose mission is to ensure that every young adult under 30 in Oulu gets the services they need as smoothly as possible. The team consists of the service advisor, lobby workers, and office staff – each with their own role yet working together seamlessly.
Service Advisor Mira – the professional in low‑threshold encounters
Mira is the person a young adult meets when visiting without an appointment. She listens, assesses the situation, and guides the young person to the right services – whether the matter is small, big, or somewhere in between.
Her workday also includes appointment scheduling, reminder messages, social media updates, website content, statistics, key management, and various working groups. She’s practically Byström One-Stop Guidance Centre multi‑tool, just much friendlier.
Lobby Workers Minna and Pauliina – encounter experts across two floors
Minna and Pauliina welcome visitors on both the first and third floors. On the first floor, they greet arrivals, guide them to the right place, and open the glass door leading to the staircase and elevators to the third floor when needed.
On the third floor, they make sure everyone finds the right service and the right staff member. They also help with practical tasks such as printing, scanning, copying, and computer use. In addition, they keep the Info-TV content up to date, update the Nuorten Oulu website, write the staff morning meeting notes, and take care of the lobby spaces and the coffee table treats. Coffee may not solve everything, but it certainly helps.
Office Workers Miia and Leila – the behind‑the‑scenes everyday lifesavers
Miia and Leila take care of all the background tasks that keep the daily operations running smoothly but often go unnoticed: handling mail and packages, ordering supplies and food items, arranging catering for meetings and events, managing loanable items, maintaining the office supply stock, and ensuring the spaces stay pleasant. They also substitute in the lobby when needed.
At the end of the day, they make sure the premises are tidy and safe – devices turned off, kitchen checked, lights out. Customers may not always see them, but without them, Ohjaamo wouldn’t run nearly as smoothly.
