NURRI Activities prevent repeated criminal offences by supporting the comprehensive wellbeing of young people

12–29-year-old young people in Oulu, who are guilty of or are suspected of repeated criminal offences or one serious offence, are the target demographic of NURRI Activities. The youth can also be guilty of an individual offence with a background in substance abuse and danger of isolation.

The goal of the activities is to support the young person’s comprehensive wellbeing and the multi-professional prevention of repeated offence. On top of the young people, support can be targeted at their families if needed. The activities are designed based on individual need and are voluntary. The activities are free of charge.

With the Perhe voimavaraksi rikoksilla oireileville nuorille Project, NURRI Activities has received support from the wellbeing services county of North Ostrobothnia and the Prison and Probation Service of Finland.

The NURRI team includes Youth Workers Venla Virta and Anni Hemmilä, Psychiatric Nurse Kari Suutari, Social Counsilor Anna-Stiina Effe, and Criminal Sanctions Officer Sirpa Poussu.
