JätKä, Jääli-Kiiminki Participation Group

JätKä is one of the 15 regional participation groups in Oulu.
JätKä area includes Kiiminki and Jääli areas. Group members act as active links between their school and the participation group and bring up their own views and needs to improve the area.
In the participation group, you can influence local and city matters by, for example, commenting on various plans, making initiatives, and organizing campaigns and events.
Regional participation groups bring the most important issues of their area to the annual children’s and youth city meeting, where young people decide on the advancement of matters important to them in the city’s decision-making process. The Youth Forum, held in the autumn, focuses on advocacy activities and networking, targeting young people of secondary school age and older.
The JätKä participation group meets about once a month during the school day. Therefore, the group’s meetings are considered school time for you. The activities of the participation groups are coordinated by youth services, and the group is guided by the area’s youth workers.
