You’re welcome to be part of KOVa!

KOVa is the participation group for children and youth at the Kastelli Community Centre.

KOVa is one of Oulu’s 15 district based participation groups. (In a participation group, you can influence matters in your local environment and the city — for example, by giving feedback on various plans, making initiatives, or organizing campaigns and events.)

Participation groups bring the most important issues from their areas to the annual Children’s and Youth City Meeting, where young people decide how to advance the issues that matter to them within the city’s decision-making.

The Youth Forum, held every autumn, focuses on participation activities and networking. The target group of the Youth Forum is young people of lower secondary school age and older.

The KOVa participation group meets about once a month during the school day. The group’s meetings are therefore counted as school time for you. The activities of the participation groups are coordinated by the Youth Services, and the group is guided by local youth workers.
